We are looking for a GDL with at least 5 years of experience. You will be part of a team with ownership of the product from cradle to grave. The team is responsible for that time, technology, and cost are held and will be kept within the agreed framework as well as securing quality assured deliveries.

Job descripton

You will be a member of a team with the ownership and responsible for development and maintenance of the product. The team contains of developers with competence as Design Engineers and Group Design Leaders. We put trust in the team and strive to build knowledge and experience to make an empowered team that drive development and take needed decisions within the team.

Responsibilities and tasks

Lead design teams through project development.
Provide guidance and direction to ensure project success.
Work closely with cross-functional teams for seamless integration.
Facilitate effective communication and information sharing.
Develop comprehensive design plans, ensuring adherence to timelines.
Apply deep technical knowledge to address complex challenges.
Integrate industry trends and technologies into the design process.
Implement rigorous quality control measures for final design compliance.
Conduct thorough testing and validation of design components.
Maintain detailed design documentation for collaboration and knowledge transfer.
Update design documentation as needed.
Mentor and guide team members for professional growth.
Conduct training sessions to enhance the team’s skill set.
Identify and address potential risks to minimize disruptions.
Develop mitigation strategies as needed.
Collaborate with clients to understand and align with project objectives.
Present design concepts and updates to clients.
Optimize design processes for efficiency.
Implement feedback loops for ongoing improvement.

Requirements

At least 5 years of design management working experience.
Master of Science alt. Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent competence through other education and /or professional experience.
Knowledge of the product development process system
Knowledge in engineering design, manufacturing, mechanical joining and behavior of materials.
Knowledge in DFM and CAD (CATIA V5, On-shape, CREO)
Knowledge in PLM and PDM
Specific knowledge within areas such as injection molded and painted plastic design, sheet metal design is considered as meritorious.
