Sweeping industrial floors can be quite a tedious task, and as such a perfect target for automation. That is why AGORA Robotics developed their SWEEPER robot. As part of our Concept Generation Rapid Solution, we helped them enhance the robots appearance and usability through a cost efficient concept. Thereafter the project was extended to also incude CAD and detail design.
AGORA Robotics approached us to design the next version of their SWEEPER robot. The product had to stand out among its competitors and communicate its robotic nature. At the same time, the design had to facilitate good usability and cost efficient manufacturing, as these factors were key for a successful implementation of the concept.
Our approach was to work iteratively with AGORA’s mechanical team to find a design that was easy to manufacture. We utilized proportion, color and labels to enhance the products usability and create a distinct aesthetic, while remaining cost efficient. Finally, the robots UI and HRI were developed to ensure safe and efficient usage and to be aesthetically aligned with the new design.
